Couples Negril 10/21/02

My wife and I went to Couples Ocho Rios for our honeymoon but were dissatisfied with that resort. We stayed there only 3 of the 7 nights before we asked to be moved to Couples Negril for the remainder of our stay in Jamaica. We were very pleased overall with Couples Negril. The staff was friendly and very service oriented. The property is only four years old so everything was in good condition. Our room was clean (morning and evening maid service) and nicely furnished. The grounds were very well maintained as were the common areas, lobby, beach, pool, restaurants, etc. The beach is large, very clean, and has lots of lounge chairs and many trees for shade if you want it. The food and service at all the restaurants was very good. All meals offered a variety of beef, pork, poultry, fish (lobster, shrimp, etc) and vegetarian entrees. The selections on the breakfast and lunch buffets were extensive. The quality of the evening entertainment was good. We took the complimentary catamaran cruise which was fun. Sunsets in Negril are excellent. There are only a couple of negative things I should mention. One of the hot tubs was not functioning. There is a period of time between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 when there is no food available.
