Breezes Runaway Bay 12/18/02

We just returned from Breezes Runaway Bay, our first trip to Jamaica-it was wonderful! I've never been anywhere where EVERYTHING was so perfect!

Maybe I'm getting a little carried away, as this was my first trip to Jamaica, but it was definitely the best week of my life.

My husband and I went with a group of 6 other people (singles and another couple all between 24-30). Breezes turned out to be a great mix of people and activities that everyone enjoyed.

The weather was gorgeous everyday. Unbelievable!

All of the food I had was wonderful. We ate at the buffet for breakfast every morning. Lunch was divided between the buffet and beach grill. For dinner, we ate at Martino's twice, the Starlight Grill (my favorite) twice and the buffet the rest of the time. While I enjoyed it all, there were a couple people in my group who didn't like everything they tried.

The entertainment crew (and staff overall) was top notch! They're so friendly and full of energy. I loved how they'd just start dancing or singing all the time.

We got involved in a lot of the games and activities, which were fun and the rest of the time was spent catchin' some rays on the beach or by the pool-with a drink in hand, of course!

I've read in several different places that the week we were there is considered "low season." I'd be really curious to know why-as the weather was perfect and the resort didn't seem "dead" by any means. I guess I don't have anything to compare it to though...

Off the subject of the resort a little, we also visited Dunn's River Falls-a must do-and Ocho Rios for shopping and a night at Margaritaville...all of which were great too!

Before we went to Jamaica, a friend who'd been there before, but couldn't come this time, kept saying we should all go back in a couple years and I kept thinking why would I want to do that? I'll go to Jamaica once and that's that-why would you want to keep going back to the same place? Now I know why...and I can't wait to return!
