Sandals Royal Caribbean 02/24/2003

We stayed at the R.C. on our 2nd trip to Jamaica. The first trip was the Enchanted Garden about 3 years ago. I read that this resort is now closed for renovation but it was truly beautiful and if you dont care if you're not right on the beach, go there. My husband and I loved it. No back to Sandals. We have stayed at both the Royal Caribbean and Sandals Negril. Actually we prefer the R.C.
It was much more romantic. The main pool was larger. Negril's pool is very small and a lot of guests (honeymooners) were complaining about it when we were there in November, 2002. Actually, most of the guests at the Negril resort were on their honeymoon and probably in their 20's or early 30's. There was much more diversity in age groups at the Royal Caribbean. Both resorts were nice but if I wouldn't go back to the Negril resort. We would go back to the Royal Caribbean for sure. Although the beach in Negril was nicer the Royal Caribbean had nice beach too and the water was always clear and warm. By the end of the day, Negril's water was very murky probably from all the motor boats going by. I didn't notice this problem as much at the R.C. Also we were at all three resorts I mentioned in October or November.
We are now about to try a large family trip to a resort more reasonably priced and are about to check out either Starfish Trelawny or Sunset Beach. Anyone who reads this trip report and has suggestions, feel free to email me. Thanks, Kathy
