Sunset Beach 02/24/2003

Just returned from 5 nights at Sunset Beach resort and Spa Feb 18-23. Check-in a little slow, room was not ready but they were friendly and had welcome drinks ready for our arrival(rum punch). They offered us changing rooms for us to freshen up and change. We then went and hit the beach had lunch a few cocktails and when we were through came back to recieve our keys to the room. The rooms are ok. Clean comfortable and OK. Nice view as well stayed in Tower B and was on the third floor and still had a nice view. Had breakfast every day at the buffet. Omlets made to order(very good) and usually 3 hot dishes also.(Good). Fresh fruit and breads(bagels muffins banana cake) also available. Cold cereal and Oatmeal was available also. Lunch at the Beach Grill was great. Jerk chicken was excellent as were the Burgers and cheese dogs. Lunch in the buffet was ok. Sandwiches made to order as well as hot food and salad bar and fresh fruit. Italian and Chinese restaurants were also very very good and worth making the reservations. Dinner in the buffet was good. Usually a fish dish and some other hot things. Bars were excellent and spread out all over. Lobby Bar Beach Bar Pool Bar(2 nice pools connecting to this bar very popular) and Grill Bar and the English Pub(opens at 6:00pm) all were great and had friendly Bartenders. We had our own mugs which was much much easier than the 8 ounce cups they use. Beach was very nice. Nice sand raked every morning. It was not very wide but long. Water was beautiful. A bit rocky the first few steps but once your out it was great. All in all WELL WELL worth the money for this resort. I would go back tomorrow. If you want 4 Seasons go there if you want a great price and great value for your money go to Sunset Beach.
