My family, which consist of 2 adults and 3 children, went to this resort in Oct. 2002. This was the 2nd Jamaica trip we had taken. The first time at a Beaches Resort. To say the least this was not the great family trip we expected. The resort itself is very pretty, but way too many steps to get to different areas. Did I say too many steps, I mean hundreds of steps everywhere. The beach is very, very small, and tons of sea weed in the water. The kids didn't even want to go into the water because of it. The food was great, but again walking a tone of steps to get from one restaurant to your room and vise versa. The kids got tired of walking all the steps and whined to be carried. Entertainment was a joke, very lame. Staff was very nice, kids club was great. I would not recommend this resort to families with small children in strollers, or older people who have a hard time getting around. The drive from the airport was a killer, 3 1/2 hours, with kids. (What were we thinking?) The resort is at least an hour or 2 trip to do any sight seeing or tours, therefore, a bit of a hassle. The rooms were large and clean,the pool is a nice size and the drinks were great. Overall,I was not impressed with this beaches resort, especially for the money.
