Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Montego Bay All Inclusive 12/03/2006

We recently returned from a stay at the Holiday Inn Sunspree. We enjoyed the stay. We had no issues with the room. It was nice and the maid service did a fine job.
The food was pretty good. We are picky eaters in general but we always managed to find something to our liking. We particularly enjoyed the open air specialty restaurant overlooking the ocean.
The staff was full of great people; all very friendly and hard working. We enjoyed talking with them and even had them playing some games with us during down times at the bar.
One suggestion we would have is the change up the entertainment a bit. The music played at night seemed to be the same over and over. The music was general cuts from artist like Aretha Franklin and Bryan Adams.
It's not that we minded the music; it's just that when we travel to Jamaica, we are expecting to hear a little more island flavor or Reggae music. We could go out to several places back home to hear the type’s music they played. Unfortunately the only time we heard any of the more traditional Jamaican music was the one night that Margaritaville was onsite for their promotion.
One suggestion I would have for travels is to purchase some insulated mugs back home and bring them with you. We did this on a prior trip to Jamaica. Like most all the resorts, the drinks are served in 8 oz cups. That's too many trips to the bar in my world. We brought 20 oz insulated mugs which the staff gladly filled with a smile. They do sell them at the resort but the cost is approx. $12.00 (U.S.) each.
All in all a nice relaxing trip. We would have no issues with returning in the future. If you haven't been to Jamaica in a while the upgrades to the airport are terrific as well. They’ve added an additional Margaritaville as well as numerous duty free shops upstairs.
