This hotel was formally Jack Tar Village but now they're Montego Beach Resort. I've stayed there in the past when it was JTV and in my opinion, nothing much has changed. From arrival to depature we were treated with 5 star service. My friends and I have stayed there in the past and we were pleased. We booked all of our excursions with Sheri our friend and from Wednesday to Sunday, we had a BLAST. The landscape is pretty much the same. The rooms were beautiful and the staff was GREAT! The rooms in the main lobby are under construction but nothing to be alarmed about. If you are looking for a 5 mile beach, MBR is not the place. If you desire a five star hotel, MBR is not the place as well. But the ambience, the adult atmosphere and just the niceness of the staff is a rating that's beyond five stars. We paid a moderate rate and got 5 star service. And for that reason, we had no complaints.
The entertainment committee needs a little help but we knew all the hot spots and left the hotel nightly for that. The rooms had everything we needed and the view was picturesque. For those travelers who only stay in the resort, you are cheating yourself. We will return in September for our 8th trip to Mo Bay and once again, we'll stay at Montego Beach Resort.
