We stayed at the Samsara Cliffs on the cliffs of Negril during the Thanksgiving holiday of 2004. We found a hotel that had work ed hard to repair and replace and rejuvenate their property in the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan, while many hotels were not yet open or had not made much of an attempt to repair their resort. We were pleased with our accommodations and found it very restful and pleasant.
This hotel has a sister hotel (Legends) on the 7 Mile Beach so one can take the shuttle there if it's the beach you want. We did that one day, however, we were happy to snorkel, eat, drink and dance at Samsara and enjoyed the other guests.
Our goal for this vacation was to run away from work, traffic and to enjoy the sun, water and the inability for anyone to to bother us. We found it at Samsara.
This resort may not be for everyone, especially people who want their day filled with activities and resort sponsored activities. But for those who want to enjoy a peaceful and tranquil setting, get in a little sun, snorkeling, reading, drinking and laughing, Samsara is a good value. The sunsets are free and awesome and people from the 7-Mile beach resorts have to pay to take a boat to come and see them. Also, taxis are inexpensive and most outside trip purveyors will come and pick you up.
Samsara was a good value for OUR dollar. We enjoyed it and hated to leave.
