Starfish Trelawny Beach Resort All-Inclusive 07/01/2006

My lady friend and I just returned from a trip to Jamaica on 6/19/06. This was my third trip to Jamaica and we plan to return again in September. I have seen a lot of the excursions and would recommend the trip to Dunn's River Falls and the Luminous Lagoon.
The Starfish Resort had overbooked and sent us to a "resort" located next door. When I say next door I mean it was a taxi ride. Needless to say it was not as nice. We had booked the Starfish several months in advance thru Expedia and had paid receipts, confirmation numbers, etc. I do not believe there is an excuse for a resort to overbook. They had my money several months in advance but somehow my room was not available. This would be bad enough if you were in a strange city in your own country but in a foriegn country? Do you really want to start your vacation out that way?
In all honesty the Starfish has a good beach and is a cheap resort. I had booked it because it was cheaper than some of the others. But, I have learned the hard way. It is an inexpensive "family" resort. That means Kids and more Kids. If that is ok for your vacation then you should enjoy the Starfish. I, however will go elsewhere. Have a great trip!
