Sunset Beach Resort and Spa All-Inclusive

Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Spent nine nights at Sunset Beach from Feb 16-25th with the wife and two sons, aged 7 & 11. This was our third visit. We all had a great time. We were first placed in room B203(Sunset Tower), but after talking to Deloris at the front desk, we were upgraded to a Junior Suite in The Inn part of the hotel. The room # was E232, and it was perfect for our needs: big enough to accomodate a King bed for the wife & I, a roll away bed for my 11 year-old, and the 7 year-old was happy to sleep on the couch. Staying at the Inn puts you a long walk from most of the resort, but we like the seclusion. The downside was the renovation going on with the Inn Lobby:the Lobby Bar was closed, so it was a loooong walk to get a drink. Luckily, I brought a 64 ounce insulated mug, plus several 24 oz. insulated glasses. We didn't eat at the specialty restaurants, as we always found the food at Banana Walk fine. The women at the KIDZ KLUB: Maline, Serena, Esmerelda and Marcia, did an excellent job of entertaining our children. The kid's activities included: Arts & Crafts, mini golf, tennis lessons with the resort's tennis pro, board games, Pool & Ping Pong Tounaments, Bingo with prizes, beach & pool games, dancercize, and many others. This allowed the wife and I plenty of time to ourselves. I like to snorkel, and the snorkelling was great right off the beach. A couple of times the water was a little cloudy, but if you go out around 9AM, before the winds pick up, the water is much clearer. The bartenders did a great job, making your drink as strong or weak as you'd like. Wadworth was/is my favorite: he made superb Pina Coladas & Hummingbirds. I highly reccommend this resort for families, but we also saw plenty of couples, senior citizens, & a few singles having a good time. The guests were primarily American, but there were also many Brits, Germans, Canadians, and a few Japanese. I rate this resort at 4 stars based on a cost ratio basis. Beaches it is not, but for the cost of a week at Beaches, you can spend at least two weeks at Sunset beach.
