Great
My wife and I stayed at FS for 5 days. It was great. Most of the reviews posted here are dead-on. The grounds are beautiful. The service was very attentive and professional. Food was excellent. Rooms were not as nice as most FS resorts .. cheap tile, plain decor - but they were large and comfortable. Great beds. For $400/night off season, that's about my recommended limit though for this nice but not perfect resort. The resort was about 40% full which made the extra staff/guest ratio incredible. No lines, no waiting, no reservations required -about any table in the restaurants were available, almost no-one at the posh pools. Just quaint, peaceful elegance with unobtrusive yet always-available service.
Golf course was nice, but not incredible, lots of dead grass in the fairways. $150 greenfees is about right on Nevis, but the course is only worth $50 max in a mainland city IMO - it just was too ordinary less the surroundings. Bring your own clubs though .. $50/day club rentals.
Great fitness facility - always empty, top of the line equipment.
Nice tennis facility for those interested.
Food quality was very good. The dining room was too expensive but you'd expect that. The tenderloin entree ($48) was superb though. About $20 for each appetizer or salad.
Less than 100 yds from our room was Sunshines - a nice break in the action, though realize that it is a "hang-out". Have the lobster tail and caribbean ribs if you go. Bring an anacid though .. but man is it good with a few Caribs. The killer Bees drinks were interesting, but not great.
Overall, i'd definitely recommend the resort, but 4-star is a relative term. If you try to compare this place to a typical FS resort quality wise, you'll be satisfied with some things, disappointed with others. But given the diamond of location on Nevis, you'll soon forget small issues, and realize the overall experience will more than make up for them.
