Stayed at the Marriott for three nights in late June and had a great time. Facility is outstanding, if a bit overwhelming in terms of size when compared to the rest of the island.
Was on the Visa summer special - buffet breakfast was included which was much better than expected. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, made-to-order omelettes, cereal, fresh fruit. Was really great. Our room was a mountainview on the third floor. Very spacious with a large patio overlooking the island. Could glimpse the ocean if you looked the right way.
Played tennis (free of charge) on the resort's lit carpet surfaced courts. Not championship by any means but got the job done.
Beach was also much better than expected. Plenty of sand and was able to swim without a problem in the somewhat choppy water. Hung out more by the three pools - north and south pools were nearly deserted and never had a problem finding a choice chair at the main pool.
Only at the pool cabana restaurant which was perfect for a quick lunch.
All in all a great start to our vacation - also spent five nights at the Four Seasons.
