St. Kitts & Nevis Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews Reviews
St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino

Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Spent 8 nights at the Marriott this month. Overall, an excellent experience. The Marriott beach is outstanding - very clean, soft sand for walking, and fun waves - especially further up the beach towards the golf course. We had been warned on this site that it would be too windy and rough but it was great. (If you prefer calm water, the Caribbean is a 15 minute walk from the hotel - it is VERY calm.) Plenty of beach huts and chairs at the Marriott - we were shocked at how few people were on the beach most of the week and in the mornings we had the beach to ourselves. The hotel also has three pools, so there is always somewhere comfortable to relax and there is less wind if that bothers you. The main pool is hectic but fun and the swim up bar has delicious pina coladas. We had excellent buffet breakfasts at Blu each day (including lovely fresh fruit), and sat outside and read the NY Times fax they provide. Our only Marriott dinner was at Blu and it was expensive and very ordinary. The pool bar lunches were well above average and fairly priced (food service at the smaller pools is limited). Our room was in a villa, 3rd floor with ocean view (bldg. 8) and it was wonderful - very spacious, spotlessly clean and well appointed, with a large and comfortable balcony. The sheets are not the same soft sheets you find at other Marriott resorts -- not sure what is up with that, but they were scratchy and uncomfortable. Also - bring your own hair dryer. They do provide one but the noise is obnoxious to the point of being unbearable. No other complaints at all about the room or the room service - couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay. Note that the villas have stairs only, but it is well worth the walk to be away from the main building, where there is more action (there were several conferences going on while we were there). The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and most everyone was knowledgeable about the island and things to do, places to eat, etc. We had a pretty significant problem upon check-in but spoke with the manager and she quickly corrected it, far exceeding our expectations. We are loyal to Marriott and for good reason I think. This resort is no exception and I definitely recommend it.
