Excellent
Went for my honeymoon in August '00. The resort features included spa services. Some of which are not worth it and others which are definitely worth it. The only problem with this is they set up your 2 services daily and if you really want them you are at the mercy of your schedule. You would have to plan offsite trips around your spa treatments. You may be able to get additional treatments but we found they were the less desireable ones too often and they fill up fast.
One other problem was they didn't set my wife's schedule and mine up to coincide at all. For example I would have a 10:00 and 4:00 and my wife had a 11:00 and 2:30. Not a good job of scheduling for honeymooners. It is also a hike up the stairs to the Oasis (the spa center) so if you're out of shape you won't enjoy getting there ;-) At the time we went, they were still allowing children but they have since changed that rule.
Food - Great! They have a sit down dinner area and in another building often have a buffet style. There is also the Tao which is an east-west fusion restaurant that you need reservations for. We ate at all three and were happy. My wife isn't into the east-west fusion style so we only went once. It is smaller and more intimate setting. Emphasis is on presentation here but the taste is also good. You can pay extra for certain menu selections and wines here and at the normal sit-down dinner area. What can I say but it's nice to not have to reach for the check every night and pull out the ole leather and plastic. Drinks were all good and top-shelf if you requested. View is beautiful, no other resorts in sight unlike the ones around Castries. Also not overly Americanized, lots of Europeans stay here. Staff is very courteous and helpful for the most part.
Offsite tours - The best one we took was a surf and safari. We took a huge catamaran to Soufriere and saw the Pitons. We were then taken to a botanical garden, drive in volcano (phew, that place stunk literally but was cool to see), and a coconut plantation. We had a lunch at the plantation and then were taken in an open back jeep back to the resort. We were on many a winding road and the scenery is magnificent driving through the many towns and small villages. We also took a sunset cruise which was had a decent dinner. Drinks were a little weak they charged for beers and the rum punch went pretty fast. It did introduce us to the sounds of soca which is a local music. We loved it!
