Hotel & Resort Reviews: St. Lucia
Sandals Halcyon 11/15/01
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
We vacationed at Sandals Halycon in late october of 2000. It was wonderful! We booked the deluxe garden view room, which had a lovely view of the gardens and the pardise pool area. All of the buildings are two levels or less and the grounds and landscaping are absolutely beautiful. The beach was only a couple minuite walk from our room, as was the restaurant area and entertainment stage, main pool and bar. The rooms were very clean and decorated with tropical print patterned bedspreads, a vanity with mirror and chair, a four poster king size bed, a small table with two chairs and a entertainment unit with a tv and three drawers for clothes. All rooms have a private balcony or patio, although the air conditioner kind of makes it noisy to sit out there. The beachfront rooms were the same layout and furniture , only a little bigger and closer to the beach.

The breakfast buffets included eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, omelets, etc as well as fresh fruit, pastries, muffins, cereals and juice, tea, coffee. Also some local dishes. The food was plentiful and nicely presented, the deserts fantastic, although some foods a bit different from north america (milk, fruit and vegetable types etc. ) Lunch was also at the bayside restaurant and featured,in addition to sandwich and salad makings, for example, lasagne, grilled fish, local dish macaroni and cheese to name a few. Dinner was either at the Pier (great view and ambiance) or Marios (italian) or bayside (various theme nights).

Nightly entertainment and lots of watersports kept us busy! This resort is kind of a laid back atmosphere, very romantic, and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun filled vacation in the sun, sandals style!
