Sandals St. Lucia Golf Resort and Spa 12/14/01

I stayed at Sandals Golf Resort and Spa December 6th-14th. The resort is large, and the food was outstanding. They have two excellect restraunts: La Toc, and the Japanese restraunt Kimonos. Kiminons has a spectacular view and the atmosphere is very fun. The brochures dont really give you a good idea of what this resort is like. Its rather run-down in parts - the roof needs repair, there are broken pool tiles and the paint is chipping away or is stained with rust.They do have some new buildings - such as the sunset honeymoon suites on the bluff which are very nice. But the island is so pretty Sandas beach is nice, but they had a red flag out every day we were there because of the very rough waves. One man broke his arm while we were there trying to swim while they had the red flag up. The service at the resort is OK, some people are very nice and others were rather stand-offish and rude. Honestly the amount of money they want you to pay isnt worth it for this resort - they dont even have mini-bars in most of the rooms, and some of the rooms are tiny. I recommed Anse Chasennet - its got the best beach and view of Pitons.
