Rendezvous 05/28/02

We were married at Rendezvous on May 16th and it was beautiful! The wedding co-rdinators did everything they could to make our day special and individual (there's a little surprise for those who are getting married but I won't tell!). We decided to do a beach wedding but opted out of going to the assigned spot which was just outside of the buffet. We actually chose a spot down the beach facing the water in our bare feet. The justice (Josephine) was amazing!!! We also had a wonderful honeymoon as well - took the half-day jeep safari which was stunning and horseback riding on the Atlantic coastline - even swam with the horses! The food was out of this world - do make reservations at the Trysting Place for a nice dinner with a fabulous selection of wines from around the world - the food in the terrace was lovely - the spot was an open air buffet right on the beach. The only thing I would recommend is NOT to choose a garden view room - the view (amazing) and room itself were great except the washrooms had serious plumbing problems - the showers went from hot to cold with hardly any water pressure and the toilet sometimes had to be pumped. The gardens around the resort were so beautifully maintained that we would just sit on our second storey deck and just take photos! I heard that the beach cottages were a little dated as well. The staff is amazing - I would like to give a shout out to Alvin, Neima, Henderson, James, Deano, Fitzroy and Harry. They made our trip absolutely amazing!!! The shows are wonderful - lots of variety!!! The grounds are well supervised by security who just kept an eye over everything. The small airport which borders on a cemetary is loud at times but after a couple days you don't notice it except for the jets (Amerijet) which really shouldn't be leaving from there but there weren't THAT many. All in all, it was a wonderful weddingmoon and holiday!!
