There is so much to appreciate about this hotel/resort. The best way to enjoy this resort is to stay in a cottage villa where you can get a great view of the sea and have lots of privacy. I resisted doing this at first because I wanted to be right on the beach, but the views from the villas are so spectacular. Besides, the shuttles that take you around the property are so efficent, you end up getting to the beach in less time than it would take to walk from a close room. You could not make a better choice if you want to be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of the Pitons and the foliage. As another reviewer said, its like having a luxury accomodation in a botanical garden. Privacy and relaxation are the main reasons to come here. There are some night life events if you want to go (particularly on Wednesday night at the Bang restaurant right next to Jalousie's Pier Restaurant which features limbo dancers, fire eaters and acrobats along with a very delicious dinner. Lots of fun! There is also a Friday night beach Calypso Party with great steel band music). However, if you are ready to unwind and just enjoy the best nature has to offer in a spectacular setting, come to Jalousie. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and nicely appointed. We also enjoyed the spa services. Very courteous people and you'll really enjoy the quality of their services. Yes, food was expensive, eating out at is generally expensive in St. Lucia. I would rate the food very good. The food is not bad as others have stated. You will enjoy this place if you give it a try.
