Too bad that 4 Stars is the highest rating that we could have chosen on writing this review, as we would have had no problem in awarding 5 Stars to Rendezvous. We stayed at Rendezvous for two weeks in mid June. It was our honeymoon, so we were hopeful that our stay would be something to remember fondly. We were not disappointed.Living in Scotland we had been travelling for over 24 hours before we arrived. It was 7pm in the evening, and on arrival we were greeted by a cold towel and rum punch. A small touch, but very welcome nevertheless. Our bags were collected by the staff, and within 15 minutes we had been checked in and shown to our room. We had a superior garden view room, which was not that much differant from the normal room. Decor was acceptable, and the in-room airconditioning unit was a god-send (Us Scots are not used to such heat !!!).
The food was second to none. Every day there is something differant, although by the second week it was becoming a trifle repetative. Dont worry about having nothing to eat outside normal meal times, as there is always something available somewhere in the resort. The staff were all helpful and friendly. If you visit Rendezvous, watch out for Alvin and Deano! The bar staff are all friendly, especially Jermain in the Piano Bar. We had many a late night watching his card tricks !
The local airport 'Vigie' is nearby, but you will not notice any aircraft flying overhead by the end of your first day. It is also worthwhile hiring a helicopter flying from Vigie to the south airport on your departure. The scenery is unforgetable, and easier on the stomach than the return bus journey.
It did rain a little during our stay, but did not harm our enjoyment. Even so, there is always something to do in the Terrace bar when it rains.
All in all we had a wonderful stay, and albeit it is a time honoured cliche, we would return at the drop of a hat.
The only grievance we did have was with the shop situated within the resort. The majority of the staff were unfriendly and the prices were extortionate - e.g.£5.50 for an out of date British newspaper. You will have little choice to shop there, as the nearest shop is in Castries 2 miles away, so bring what you need with you.
Finally, do not chose the Beach cottages as your accomodation, as they do not look worth the extra money and look isolated from the rest of the resort.
