St. Lucia Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews
Ti Kaye & Ladera 06/29/2003
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary this past May at both Ti Kaye and Ladera. I have dreamed of going to Ladera for over 8 years and it didn't disappoint.
We stayed first at Ti Kaye in our own cottage. Mosquito netted king size bed, outside shower, porch with rocking chairs and 2 person hammock. NEED I SAY MORE??
Romantic, relaxing, beautiful - right overlooking the water. The food was very good.
Downside - you have to walk like 100 steps down to the beach (and of course then you have to wlak up those same 100 steps coming back from the beach). Beach is black sand - "cool" but very hot! The beach had alot of rocks in the water, but the snorkelling right off the beach was excellent.
Ladera was soooo beautiful - flowers, trees, fruit trees everywhere. In fact they have a book put together of all the different foliage on the property. Very private and quaint setting.
The rooms are rustic and very interesting. The views were SPECTACULAR! My husband and I could have just sat in our chairs and looked out at the view for days at a time. I can still picture it and when I do it relaxes me. The food was EXCELLENT - especially the creme brulee (3 different flavors). Everything was sooo good.
We were disappointed the bed was only queen size, especially after having king size at the other resort. The rooms are very private - we laid out (clothing optional) every day in our room. Get a heated plunge pool though, because we didn't and it was COLD! We forced ourselves to go in one day just to say that we did!
Overall St. Lucia is a BEAUTIFUL island - Ladera and Ti Kaye both beautiful. But, if you're looking for "action" and activities these are not the resorts for you. If you're looking for quiet, relaxation, romance then these ARE the resorts for you!
