Anse Chastanet Resort 03/13/2004
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
My wife and I went to AC in Dec 2003, even though it had no air cond, tv or phones we had to go and experience it. Probably one of the best places if you like unspoiled surroundings and nature. We found that the mosquito netting and the cieling fan was perfect for this resort. The yellow bug lights in the room made it a little difficult to read but that was the only down side to this fantastic place. There is alot of climbing at this resort so if you are shy of stairs go somewhere else, but if not you will see one of the best laid out resorts (as to not interfere with nature) around. The place was extremely clean, the service friendly and prompt (for the Caribbean) and some of the best food I have tasted. If you are tired of the all inclusive buffet shuffle then this place will please you. Freshly prepared HOT food cooked by an imaginary team of chefs, some dishes a little different, but never got a meal I didn't like. The tours (some free) at AC with Mandoo where informative and fun, a must to do. All I can say is a stay at Anse Chastanet is truly an experience everyone should try. I have travelled over half of the Caribbean islands over the past 20 years and found AC to be a unique experience. If you want something away from the typical sterile caribbean trip Anse Chastanet should be on your list of resorts. Rick
