St. Lucia Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews Reviews
Ladera Resort 06/07/2004
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
We just got back from St Lucia and the Genadines in late May and have to comment on staying at Ladera. It was the most unique hotel experience we have ever had. It is so beautiful and you feel at though you are really in the heart of the Pitons. The views from the room are outstanding. We stayed in a deluxe one bedroom with plunge pool.
The pool was a little cold in the room and we did not use it. The pool for the resort was the perfect tempature and with the view from the pool you will never want to leave. The feeling of being outdoors is one I really enjoy and with the one open wall you really get a true sense of being in the Caribbean. The service, when you needed information or booking tours, was excellent.
We had some bad weather and I was concerned about the rain and how the room would hold up to the wind, rain and pretty extreme weather at night. However, it was fine. You need to be prepared that you are not in a extreme luxury resort (no phones, TV, etc). However, the environment is one that really lets you feel apart of the island. I would truly recommend this resort to anyone that wants to have a luxury service with the island feel.
The restaurant "Dasheene" was incredible. We had the steak twice and we really don't ever eat steak but it was great.
We utilized the shuttle service to both the Hilton and Anse Chasanet beaches. We climbed Gros Piton and Jungle biked. My favorite beach was Anse Chasanet with the services and black sand. Soufriere was a dissapointment. I thought it would be a good town to walk around and have interesting sites but it was not and I did not feel safe.
Try Ladera, you will not be dissapointed.
