We stayed at the Grand Case in March of 2001. If your looking for a place that is somewhat away from the main part of the island but still close to plenty of activities, this is the place for you.
This resort sits on a relatively quiet stretch of beach just outside the town of Grand Case. The waters are calm here, a perfect setting for a relaxing vacation. The guests here are generally an 'middle aged' crowd with only a handful of children. The water activities director, Sebastian, was eager to please and took care of setting up whatever we desired. They have floats, kayaks, paddleboats, snorkle equipment for free and will set up other activities such as excursions to other islands, scuba diving, horseback riding, snorkle trips, deep sea fishing, etc. They will also take you waterskiing each morning at a certain time at no cost. If you desire to be in the action, take the short drive to Orient Beach, where the waters are rougher and there is no shortage of activities. Here you'll find one beach shack after another offering parasailing, windsurfing, jet skis or just rent a beach chair, relax with a drink from the bar and watch the fun.
In the evening, we took the short walk into Grand Case each night for a fabulous dinner. This is a small, quaint town loaded with great restuarants. There's plenty to choose from and they're all fairly reasonably priced. Even the beach shacks serve up some fantastic BBQ ribs and chicken for next to nothing. When you're done, talk a quiet stroll along the beach back to your room.
The rooms at the Grand Case are nice, kept clean enough and most are located directly on the beach. There are fantastic views of the ocean right from the room. If you're English, don't worry, everyone will speak English, but be careful. Their English has a very strong accent and can be difficult to understand at times. Enjoy your trip
