Wow! The Alamanda was amazing. This was our first trip to SXM so I did lots of online research and talked to a number of SXMers before deciding on The Alamanda. I'm so glad we did!
The Alamanda is the brand new sister resort to the Esmeralda - on Orient Beach. What a location! You are basically right on the best part of Orient Beach and you're five minutes from the restaurants in Grand Case. We met so many people who had to drive to Orient Beach every day because they didn't know about The Alamanda.
The rooms are beautiful - and immaculate - and every room has a wonderful view of the ocean. The amenities are very nice too. A tasty (and free) continental breakfast is served poolside every morning by a friendly French girl named Silvie and you have reserved beach chairs (included) at Kakao, which seemed like the best beach bar. You also get free access to a brand new gym just behind the resort. The Alamanda has deals with all the local places so you can charge things - like beachside foo foo drinks - to your room.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and the boutique like atmosphere is really nice and appropriate for a fun stay on the Friendly Island.
Can't wait to go back!
