St. Martin/St. Maarten Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews Reviews
Oyster Bay Beach Resort 06/23/2004
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Oyster Bay Beach resort is wonderful. I just returned from a week's stay on June 19, 2004. I own a timeshare and stayed at Oyster Bay through an exchange with Interval International. I upgraded at Oyster Bay from a studio to a one bedroom apartment. They charged a flat fee of $100 for the entire week. It was well worth the charge.
The one bedroom is large with a full kitchen with built in microwave, dishwasher, ice maker refrigerator and fully stocked with kitchen supplies and dishes, pots and pans, glassware, etc. We loved the kitchen so much that we went shopping at Grand Marche supermarket (food is very cheap there compared to US prices) and cooked several meals. The apartment has remote control AC, CD player, VCR and 2 TVs, a large balcony with furniture, bedroom with king sized bed and living room with sofa bed, glass dining table for 4. The decor is tropical wicker. The bathroom was large with two sinks and bidet. It was quite comfortable.
Oyster Bay is a beautiful resort, immaculate and has flowers all over the property. It is in a somewhat secluded area on its own private inlet right next to Dawn Beach, but it is only a 10 minute drive to Philipsburg and 10-15 minutes to Orient Beach. They offer many day trips and in-town trips which include lunch or dinner at a restaurant in Grand Case or on the Dutch side. Lots of fun!!! We did the 3 Island Snorkle, Celine Sunset Cruise with dinner at Jimbo's, Casino Night with free bingo and pizza party, and we won a free week's stay in the Friday Night Raffle where the resort gives away a bonus week. So we will definitely be returning to Oyster Bay in the near future! The resort also offer special events all through the week at the resort, bar specials, food specials, etc.
The pool at Oyster Bay is a free-form infinity pool very large and the pool area is beautiful. The marina at Oyster Pond is beautiful with boats docked which makes for very nice views against the mountains surrounding the area. The resort has a fitness room, several shops, laundry, restaurant and bar. Mr. Busby's and Ms. B's Beach Bars are right on Dawn Beach next to the resort. The staff is friendly and helpful and I would recommend this resort highly.
