Great
Carribean Paradise is a small inn run by a delightful german couple who were warm and welcoming from the first email I sent inquiring about availability. My family and I travel frequently and love finding smaller hotels and inns where we are not only comfortable, but feel as if we're getting really personal attention. Carribean Paradise offers lovely spacious rooms (defintely go for the second floor rooms even though they're a little more expensive -- the view is worth it)a nice pool and a delicious continental breakfast.
Though it is not located right on the beach, the walk is a short one and is no problem even carrying beach chairs and umbrellas, which you can rent at the inn (beach towels provided free). The beach itself is gorgeous with incredibly blue water -- though not 100% clear because there is actually surf which stirs up the sand as opposed to those beaches where the water is very calm and crystal clear -- and great for swimming or sunning.
There is some
seaweed that gets deposited on the beach that other hotels rake away everyday, but we just pushed it out of the way ourselves. It is possible to walk along the beach in either direction and find a good variety of places for lunch or dinner and to see the other, fancier resorts. We were never sorry we stayed at Caribbean Paradise though. For example, I caught a flu bug and was very sick one night. When the owner heard that I was ill, he immediately put together a tray with tea and crackers and brought them up to my room. The other people at the hotel were pleasant and friendly to talk with, though if we had wanted to keep entirely to ourselves, it would not have been a problem.
My boyfriend and I are both scuba divers and we chose a package through Caribbean Paradise with Flamingo Divers and had a wonderful experience. We did go during the off season, but even so, it was amazing to find ourselves the only divers in the party besides the guide. What terrific personal at
tention!
Flamingo's guides went out of their way to find good dive sites where other boats might not normally go. In addition to being very knowledgeable and professional, they were also very nice to spend time with. Caribbean Paradise does not have a restaurant on site, but more than a dozen places within easy walking distance serving lunch and dinner, ranging from the cheap to the expensive. We enjoyed exploring all the possibilities.
To sum up, I would definitely recommend the Turks and Caicos and Caribbean Paradise, especially if you enjoy smaller, more personal inns without sacrificing comfort and convenience.
