will hanna reach barbados?

That seems highly unlikely at this point. The Caribbean is a large region. Hanna is out in the Atlantic, far north of Barbados, and heading in the other direction.

We have a vacation planned Monday-Saturday in
Turks Caicos. Will Hannah bring Wind and Rain and for how long? Thanks

The Turks and Caicos Monday to Saturday is not looking too good! If the NHC track is accurate (and a lot can change in the next couple of days) it looks like Hanna will be a hurricane by then and ripping through the Bahamas just north of the T&C islands. I would be on the phone with your airline and hotel - I wouldn't be surprised to see your flight cancelled. Do you have trip insurance? Unfortunately it is too late to get it now, but when traveling to the Caribbean in September I would always advise it.

Hi

Off to Cuba, Valadero on 5th September for 2 weeks, will we be affected by tropical storms, especially Hannah?

Thanks

William

William Gustav went through that area I think - so you may want to check with the resort and see what kind of shape it is in. Hanna won't be affecting that region - it is looking like an east coast US landfall for Hanna. There is another system way out in the Atlantic - but there is no definite track or development for it yet. I will probably take longer than a few days to get into the Caribbean basin (if it does at all).

What impact has Hanna had on Providenciales? What is the outlook?

I am going to Cayo Coca on 4th Sept am i to expect any flight problems because of Hannah and will we be affected by Ike or Hanna through the 2 weeks

So if you are paying attention you will see that Hanna has not done what was forecast and is actually spreading to the south and breaking up a bit. Anyone traveling to or living in Cuba, Hispaniola, The T&C Islands, The Bahamas and Florida and maybe the rest of the east coast needs to pay attention to the three named storms that are in the Atlantic right now.

I am going to the T/C, Grace Bay, this Saturday. Any news of damages from Hanna?

Terry I would definitely call the resort - it seems that it did pick up to near hurricane force around there. You never know what could have happened. And we still don't know where Hanna is going to end up - it is still dumping rain there now and may continue for a day or two.

Anthony,

Where are you located? Are you in the T/C's?

quote-icon-20.gif La Gringa said:

There is some flooding in Providenciales (Provo, we call it) but the majority of the island has power and is functioning quite well. The resorts have fared pretty well also. They have their own generators so don't miss a beat. Some of our neighbors, in fact, have relocated to the Seven Stars.

The big question though is what will happen with Ike. Hanna gave us a pretty good one-two punch but Ike is looking like it could be a greater menace.

Going to Aruba 15th September. Are the hurricanes going to hit there or affect this destination?

The odds are in your favor - it is always possible of course, but highly unlikely.
