Musical Festival Celebrates the First Day of Summer
The 26th annual Fête de la Musique kicks off all across France on June 21, the official start of summer. The festival began in 1982 thanks to Maurice Fleuret, who was the Director of Music and Dance, and the support of Jack Lang, Cultural Minister at the time. The goal was to bring people and their music out onto the streets. Sounds like a St Barth natural, right? This event has been celebrated in St Barth for the past few years and will take place at Caviar Island in Gustavia and at La Plage in St Jean. I'm sure you can expect other venues to be added as the day approaches!
