Auction to Benefit the Ramsar Convention
From March 31 to April 27, Segeco, the local distributor of Evian mineral water, is sponsoring an exhibit of a rare glass Evian bottle. One of 99 in existence, the bottle was created by French designer Christian Lacroix for Haute Couture Evian and hand-blown by Swiss artisans. When the exhibit is over, the bottle will be auctioned, and the proceeds will be donated to support the Ramsar Convention. Enacted in 1975, the Ramsar Convention is an intergovernmental treaty that provides the infrastructure for international cooperation in the preservation of wetlands.
