Chez Ginette, a locally owned bar in Anse des Cayes, was recently destroyed by an electrical fire. Ginette made probably over 50 types of flavored rums and was featured on a Food Network "Taste of the Caribbean" series hosted by Alton Brown. The bar was a fun place to play pool, bélote (a French card game) and Scrabble as well as a place to listen to music on Fridays and Saturdays. An island institution has come to an end.

La Marine, a restaurant on the harbor on La Pointe in Gustavia, has with The Yacht Club and is now called Le Restaurant and Sushi Bar. It's open 7 days a week from 7:00 pm.

The new incarnation of La Gloriette in Grand Cul de Sac is scheduled to open December 15.

"Blue Zone" parking, as described in an earlier issue of News Bytes, will start on December 15.
