Ciné St Barth Plans Several Year-Round Projects
In response to a growing demand for more cinema activities from students and adults, Ciné St Barth, the nonprofit association behind the St Barth Film Festival, is planning several new projects. Since the beginning of the film festival 12 years ago, filmmakers have scheduled time to visit the schools to promote filmmaking as a profession and to increase the understanding of cinema. They have clearly done a good job! As a result of the increased interest, Ciné St Barth hopes to establish an editing studio and a film club, where Caribbean films can be shown all year. Establishing a film club has been a long-time desire, but the lack of a venue for showing the videos always put it on hold. Now, with the availability of the new room upstairs at the Capitainerie in the office building of the Harbor Master, this dream may become a reality.
