Who is Makana? Esquire Magazine stated that he is considered "the greatest living player" of slack key guitar. Just last year, the National Geographic Society hosted Makana in a concert that was recorded for the NGS Music Channel series "Geo Sessions." His first album was voted the "Best CD" by readers of the Honolulu Weekly. As well, he has earned the "Best World Music Album" and "Adult Contemporary Album of the Year at the Hawaii Music Awards. Last year he played on the island during the time of the music festival. Now, he is returning to share his music again in two venues. Seats are limited to 60, so make your reservations early. On Saturday, February 20, he'll be in concert at the Zion Garden in Saline at 8:00 pm.
