Travel & news discussion about Anguilla

Family Vacation

Postby jhhada » Sun Dec 25, 2005 11:40 pm

I have three children 5, 7 and 9 and am interested in getting them interested in places like Anguilla. I am looking at options at Anguilla or Bonaire for snorkling and water activities. Can anyone give me recommendations for staying at Anguilla? I am afraid that Cuisinart and Cup will be too uptight for children and i just don't know enough about other options.

Maybe you would want to look into staying at La Sirena Hotel. They have nice Villas. www.la-sirena.com or email lasirena@anguillanet.com

Depending on what type of accomidation you are looking for:
http://villas.ai/
http://inns.ai/
http://hotels.ai/
http://www.anguillaguide.com/

The villas are stand alone units, most probably include maid service. The inns are guest houses, villas and apartments - more affordable. The hotels site includes some of the villas and inns. The Anguilla Guide has villas.

On Bonaire we stay at www.happyholidayhomes.com. Check out http://www.infobonaire.com/ for more choices.

Cuisinart is ANTYHING but uptight for children. They have plenty of families there. Kids love it there.

You might also be interested in looking into Carimar on Meads Bay, a little kinder on the pocketbook than Cuisi, because it is right next door to the kid-friendly Malliouhana's Pirate Cove playground.

I think Shoal Bay East is perfect for families with kids who are the ages of yours. The water is calm; there's a gentle slope (no drop-off or shelf); several decent reefs for snorkeling; and, Junior's glass bottom boat -- he's fabulous with kids and will take you to neighboring islands. Check out Ku, Shoal Bay Villas, Mandeariman, Allamanda's, and Serenity.
