Pyrat Factory to Close!

I was just at the Pyrat shop today, Christmas shopping, and the lady working there said they would be closing soon. She could only estimate that it would be sometime in January, but not sure exactly when....so, stock up if you plan to go anytime soon. It sounds like they are going to Guyana and possibly labor costs are a factor...according to the staff I spoke with there today.

"There were several problems. Wages are too high here. Shipping is too high because we don't have a deep water port that can be accessed by regular size container ships. And NICA. Martin felt they were being expoited on the rent they were forced to pay to NICA when their former lease expired. He intended to building their own building, close to Mariners, but he died, and there was suddenly no reason for the rum factory to be in Anguilla, and a lot of reasons to leave.

The shares held by the estate have been sold to Martin's former partner."
