Carifta Games?

Postby KarenS » Fri Mar 10, 2006 8:07 am

From Internationalgames.net: "The CARIFTA games are open to athletes from the Caribbean nations that are Members of CARICOM (the Caribbean Community).
The games are for athletes competing in two age divisions between ages of 13 and 19. Originally an athletics (track and field) competition only, from 1972 until 1984, the CARIFTA games were expanded in 1985 to included six sports.

The games are traditionally held over Easter weekend on an annual basis."

According to the Jamiaca Observer, this year: "The Carifta Games will be held in Guadeloupe on April 14-16.

Entry forms are available at the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association (JAAA) office. There will be no same-day registration, and entries close on Wednesday, March 15, 2006."

Anyone been to these games in the past? Going this year??
