Conde Nast names great small islands

Postby KarenS » Thu Mar 23, 2006 8:16 am

The Associated Pressd reports: "Conde Nast Traveler's April issue showcases 13 of the smallest and least-known islands of the Caribbean.

Terre-de-Haut-- is reachable by boat from Guadeloupe and boasts Pompierre Beach. Barbuda is a 15-minute flight from Antigua and has several exclusive resorts. Saba -- -- is accessible by boat from Sint Maarten and is known for dive sites.
Canouan, in the Grenadines-- is still a bit of a secret among island aficionados. But most travellers have probably heard of Puerto Rico's Culebra -- -- and the Cayman Islands' Little Cayman and Cayman Brac-- known for diving and birding.
Also on the magazine's list are:
St. Eustatius-- a diving haven that is part of the Netherlands Antilles.
Jost Van Dyke, in the British Virgin Islands -- known as the "party island.''
Montserrat-- which continues to rebuild on the northern part of the island following a 1997 volcano that destroyed its capital.
Bequia-- in the Grenadines.
Petite Martinique -- and Carriacou -- -- accessible by ferry from Grenada."

Any personal suggestions?
