Caribbean Sun Airlines said it will end flight operations on Jan. 31, citing competition from major U.S. carries.
The two-phase shutdown includes terminating all Caribbean Sun flights between San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, by Jan. 16. Then, the Fort Lauderdale-based airline is to end all remaining operations and close its operational hub at Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport in San Juan.
