CASTRIES, St Lucia: On May 20, 2007, the Rotary Club of St Lucia will host its ninth Rotary Treasure Hunt across the Island. The starting point is the Rodney Bay Marina, Gros-Islet.
The event is being championed by Dr Azmina Long, Rotary President, with vehicle sponsorships by Renwick & Co., as main sponsors. This year's hunt will include a fleet of over forty vehicles. Business houses from the private sector will sponsor vehicles displaying their products as they travel the Island in search of fun filled 'treasures', the location and timing of which will qualify the teams for prizes.
The Treasure Hunt is one of the Rotary Club's major fund-raisers and is expected to generate revenues as part of an initiative towards the provision of a mobile 'Youth Anti-Violence Clinic', which is estimated to cost about US$100,000.
This project will assist displaced youth in returning to the main stream of their personal development on the Island.
