Caribbean Novels

Postby Paul » Sun Apr 09, 2006 6:35 pm

Does anyone have any books to recommend that are set in the Caribbean or novels by Caribbean authors?

There is a lot of great Caribbean based and Caribbean authored literature. One of the best novels for the American experience in the islands is Herman Wouk's Don't Stop The Carnival.

V.S. Naipaul is a prolific writer who was born in Trinidad - his early novel Miguel Street about life in Port of Spain is a good one.

Live de Life by Joan Harrington. It's a story about her experience building a house and living in St. Kitts.
