Cell phone Service In USVI

Postby 2FarNorth » Fri May 05, 2006 9:19 am

I have used both Sprint PCS and Verizon. Both had good service in STT and the STT side of STJ. Got a bit more spotty out towards Coral Bay.

I have Sprint service. On St. John, we were able to get service in Cruz Bay, out to Fish Bay on the South Shore, and to about Cinnamon Bay on the North Shore. We could not get service at all in the Coral Bay, East End, or Bordeaux Mountain areas.

On St. Thomas, our phones worked fine in the limited areas we explored--Charlotte Amelie and Red Hook, as well as the Secret Harbour resort.

Verizon in US Virgin Islands

Postby Bachelor2 » Fri May 26, 2006 10:06 am

In Dec 2006 I used my Verizon cell phone service with no connection problems on both St. Thomas and St. John. But, my bill was over $400 when I got home.

Was it for long distance, roaming, or both? I am wondering also if your bill showed who picked up the call - Verizon doesn't sell service in the VI, do they?
