Fro m a recent press release:
AQUAVENTURE, a 63-acre water park with 81 lifeguard stations, opened at Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas on March 2. Aquaventure features various water slides and a mile-long river ride with rapids, wave surges and special effects. Once guests are in their inner tubes and enter the attraction, they are moved along by water escalators, surges and conveyors and never have to leave the water. The 120-foot-high Power Tower offers four water slides -- including one called The Abyss, which drops riders 50 vertical feet into near darkness through a tumbling waterfall. Admission to Aquaventure is free of charge to Atlantis guests.
