Postby KarenS » Mon Feb 13, 2006 9:23 am

According to the Grenada Broadcasting Network: "Preparations have begun in Grenada for the staging of a successful leg of the 20/20 tournament

The tournament spearheaded by Texan billionaire Allen Stanford will seek to develop and make Caribbean cricket exciting and entertaining.
At a brief ceremony Sports minister Adrian Mitchell told Stanford 20/20 delegates that team Grenada will spare no effort to stage a successful tournament.

According to Reverend Wes Hall, the tournament which will seek to develop cricket in the region is also offering attractive monetary packages.
In addition to the US$100,000 presented Thursday, there is an additional $US 120,000 to be presented for coaches and players and a further US$50,000 for maintenance.

A team of cricket legends was selected by Mr. Stanford to give support to the participating countries to ensure that things run smoothly for the encounter.
Reverend Wes Hall says every transaction must be accounted for, and as a result transparency and accountability must be their watch words."

Anyone attending the tournament? Playing in it??
