Grenada's roads

Travel & news discussion about the "spice island"

Grenada's roads

Postby KarenS » Fri Mar 03, 2006 8:45 am

According to cbc.bb: "The Grenada Government is considering the re-introduction of a Public Transport System.

Transport Minister Claris Modeste-Curwen said the Government is discussing the issue in light of recent action taken by private bus owners and drivers.

She says no decision has yet been taken.

Last week, bus drivers on the St. George's North East route staged a one-day strike to protest the state of the roads.

However, the Minister said that the actions of the bus drivers lacked consultation.

She also warned that the Government would ensure that a reliable service is in operation for the ICC Cricket World Cup next year."

Are the roads that bad in Grenada? Comments on what travel will be like in Grenada when the World Cricket Cup comes to town?
