ORANJESTAD, ARUBA, Dec. 1, 2009 - Starbucks Coffee International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Starbucks Coffee Company (Nasdaq: SBUX) and the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino, a wholly owned subsidiary of Metacorp NV, today celebrated the opening of its first store in Oranjestad, Aruba at Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino. This Starbucks store, operated by Metacorp and its partners as a licensed store, is located at the Renaissance Marketplace and opened on Saturday, Nov. 28.
With this store opening, customers and partners (employees) will now be a part of the Starbucks Experience that provides daily inspiration through human connection, innovative products and services, and a comfortable atmosphere. This experience will extend beyond Starbucks stores, into the communities in which it operates.
The Renaissance Marketplace at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino is lined with boutique retail and specialty shops, cafés, restaurants and entertainment options. According to Travel Weekly the Aruba Marriott is finishing up their renovation in time for high season:
The renovation project included a makeover of all guest rooms, the launch of a Ruth's Chris Steak House to replace the former Tuscany Italian restaurant, the redesign of La Vista themed restaurant, an overhaul of the lobby and reception area and the creation of the 59-room Tradewinds Club on the resort's top floor.
I hope there is a high season this year - hotel news is particularly bad at the moment.
