Disney Cruise Line brings christmas Gifts to AMERICA'S CARIBBEAN

~ Holiday spirit arrives early for children in need~

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands, December 8, 2008 - The gift-giving spirit will arrive early in St. Thomas this year when the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association and the Disney Cruise Line, hosts the Disney Holiday Gift Project on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Palms Court Harbor View Hotel from 11:00am to 2:30pm.

The Disney Holiday Gift Project is an annual holiday event hosted by the Department of Tourism for less fortunate children in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Over 200 children from the Department of Special Education and various Department of Human Services' programs are expected to benefit from this year's event. During the festivities, each child will receive gifts and a complimentary lunch, while Disney characters, local entertainers and volunteers will entertain the children for a true Caribbean Christmas experience.

"Every year, we look forward to this event which enlivens the holidays for so many local children," said Commissioner of Tourism Beverly Nicholson-Doty. "We are so grateful to the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association and Disney Cruise Line for continuing to support this important event year after year."

As part of the program, FCCA Cruise Lines will be providing gifts to more than 6,000 under-privileged children in 28 different destinations throughout the region, including the U.S. Virgin Islands.
