Paddle Boarding Trend Arrives at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, USVI

ST. THOMAS, US Virgin Islands -- Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, the Caribbean's most entertaining beach resort, has expanded its complimentary non-motorized water sports offerings. Paddle boarding, one of the fastest-growing water sports in the world, is now available at Bolongo Bay.

Paddle boarding has long been popular in Hawaii, and now making waves in the Caribbean. Bolongo Bay is one of a few, but growing number, of resorts offering the water sport.

It's already very popular with Bolongo guests who can't wait to try it out. As with all of Bolongo Bay's water sports, instruction is always complimentary along with the equipment. Guests can receive individual lessons by Bolongo Bay's Activity Coordinators and be paddle boarding in no time.

"It's actually pretty easy to learn," comments Joe Ottaviano, Activity Coordinator at Bolongo Bay. "And women tend to master it more quickly than men due to their lower center of gravity."

Paddle boarding is a full-body workout and requires a little bit of balance. It works by standing up on a board that's similar to a surfboard and using a paddle to propel across the water. It's a great way to take in views of the coastline, admire the sea life below - and attract attention. From a distance, it almost looks like walking on water.

Whether guests stay on a room-only rate or the popular All Inclusive plan, the fun in the sun is always included at Bolongo Bay. In addition to paddle boarding, the resort's complimentary non-motorized water sports include Hobie Cats, kayaks, windsurfers, aqua tricycles, snorkel gear and more.

No passport is needed for US citizens to vacation at Bolongo Bay in the US Virgin Islands.
