If it's Sunday night, it's party time in Antigua. For the last 25 years the weekly jump up on Shirley Heights has been attracting crowds for drinks, live music and the best view on the island. Pulsing to the sound of a steel band or live reggae there are rum punches 'a plenty, as well as a mouth watering BBQ buffet set up and ready to go.
The lure here for the crowds of people that converge every Sunday is first and foremost the panoramic view of the sunset over historic English Bay. If you aren't 'on island' for the Sunday bash, there is another chance to go on Thursday for a calmer and not so crowded party - it's good for families.
Tip: You can take a 'tour' to get up here, or grab a taxi yourself.
that sounds like good fun. I visited Antigua one day on a cruise and it was a place we could see ourselves returning to for a longer stay.
