DISCOVER THE UNKNOWN DOMINICA: STEP UP TO THE WNT TRAIL CHALLENGE
Dominica's new Waitukubuli National Trail (WNT) covers the length and breadth of the Nature Island. At 115 miles long, it is the only trail of its kind in the Caribbean and the world's newest long-distance walking trail.
Experiences Caribbean now offers hiking enthusiasts the dream in adventure vacations-hiking all 14 segments of the WNT during a two-week stay in the lush green paradise known as Dominica. Walking the trail in its entirety tests the mettle of the most ardent and experienced walker. For the less adventurous hiker, the trail offers grassy paths that meander alongside cooling streams and pass gently through green valleys.
The rugged yet beautiful nature of the island is at the forefront as this trek traverses the island's mountainous interior, enters the Morne Trois Pitons World Heritage site, climbs the slopes of steaming rain forests and descends dramatic gorges. The trail crosses countless rivers while taking in spectacular waterfalls and steaming sulphur springs. The segments pass through old plantations, skirt along coastal cliffs, meander through fertile farm lands and pass along slave and Kalinago traces with stops in small, secluded villages.
